JOB TITLE: Grouse Beat Keeper

JOB TYPE: Permanent

 

ROLE SUMMARY 

Roxburghe Estates are seeking a new Beat Keeper to join the team at Byrecleugh & Rawburn in the
Lammermuir Hills, totaling 10,000 acres of managed moorland.

A self-motivated individual with excellent communication skills and an eye for detail is sought.
The successful applicant will have an ability to work independently as well as part of a team
comprising of a Head-Keeper and two other Beat Keepers.

Previous experience producing grouse or other wild game is essential along with knowledge and
ability to carry out exemplary predator control in accordance with legislation and best practice.
Competitive salary, accommodation and vehicle are provided for the role.

Clean driving license together with current firearms and shotgun licenses must be held.

Key Responsibilities

As Grouse Beat Keeper you will have an ability to work independently as well as part of a team
comprising of a Head-Keeper and two other Beat Keepers.
These include:
Producing grouse or other wild game.
Carrying out exemplary predator control in accordance with legislation and best practice.

 

Qualities you will possess

Previous experience producing grouse or other wild game.
Enthusiastic approach to work.
Excellent communication skills.
Positive and approachable manner.
Ability to work without the need of close supervision.
High level of attention to detail.
Ability to work closely within a team.
A full driver’s license is essential.
Current firearms and shotgun licences must be held.
