This Summer start your adventure at Floors Castle on the Zoolab Explorer Trail!

Gather your friends and family, pick up your Trail Pack and start seeking the seven hidden signs around the site. Find all the missing letters to uncover the mystery word and at every stop you’ll be given top tips on how to search for and find some of the awesome little creatures living within the beautiful Castle Gardens & Grounds. Meet the Zoolab characters along the way and be sure to check when the real live animals are coming to site for you to get up close and hands-on with.

This exciting animal trail is the perfect way to get kids of all ages outside, active, enjoying nature and exploring this Summer!

Don’t forget on special dates you can join our Zoolab Expert for the live shows on the 5th of July & 16th of August*, to meet some of the awesome exotics within the trail, such as snakes, spiders and giant snails. *Tickets for these will be on sale soon via our website.

Here are a few tips and information for you to remember when you visit the Zoolab Explorer Trail…

•The Zoolab Explorer Trail will open on the 20^th of June and run 7 days a week until the 31st of August, 10.30am until 4pm – last trail admission 3pm.

•The Explorer Trail starts at the Walled Garden, please enter the Estate through the Terrace Café entrance (POST CODE – TD5 7RN) and pick up your trail pack from the Garden Ticket Kiosk.

•Up to three children aged 15 and under can take part in the Zoolab Explorer Trail for free, when accompanied by a paying adult with a Castle, Gardens & Grounds Ticket, a Gardens & Grounds Ticket or Annual Pass* There will be a £2 admission cost for any children over the 3 child limit per paying adult.  No Pre-booking necessary, if your adult ticket has been booked online, be sure to pick up your trail packs from our Ticket Kiosks on arrival, your children will need this to take part in the trail.

*Our adult Annual Pass Holders will receive unlimited free entry for up to three children per visit as part of our Annual Pass scheme.

•Adult day tickets do not need to be booked in advance, tickets will be available to purchase on the day from both our Garden Ticket Kiosk and Golden Gates Ticket Kiosk.

•This is NOT a trail like previous years – this is an EXPLORER TRAIL, there will be NO arrows telling you where to go, you will be given a map in your Trail Pack on arrival. You must use your map to navigate your way around the Gardens, Grounds and Woodland to explore and search for the creatures at each stop.

•Adventurers are to bring along a pencil to fill out their Trail Pack, pencils will be on sale if required.

•Please be respectful of the signage and trail areas, they are for all to enjoy for the duration of the trail. Please take your rubbish and dog waste to the bins provided around the Estate.

•The Explorer Trail is mainly flat and winds its way through the pebbled paths of our Walled Garden, grassy lawns and woodland tracks and will be suitable for most good off-roading buggies, prams and wheelchairs.

•Dogs on leads are very welcome throughout the Explorer Trail. The Courtyard Café is dog friendly, offering both indoor and outdoor seating to well behaved dogs and their owners. Dogs are welcome in both our Giftshops. There is also outdoor seating and water points at the Terrace Café, so they needn’t be shut in the car.
